About this machine
The SMI SK 600 T tray former with grouping and shrink-wrapping unit is a widely used automatic end-of-line machine in industries such as beverages, food and consumer goods for secondary packaging.
The SMI SK 600 T belongs to the SK series from SMI S.p.A., designed to collate products (bottles, cans, containers) and form tray-style packages with shrink film.
It integrates three functions into a single machine:
- Product collator (collation system)
- Cardboard tray former
- Shrink-wrapping machine
Operation:
- Collation (electronic collator).
- Containers are arranged in formats (e.g. 3x2, 4x3, 6x4).
- Tray forming:
- Takes cardboard from the magazine.
- Positions it beneath the group
- Folds and glues (hot-melt) to form the tray.
- Film wrapping:
- Applies plastic film around the assembly
- Automatic film cutting
- Entry into shrink tunnel (heat).
