About this machine
The Hughes husking/ husking system is a highly efficient and effective method of removing husks and hairs from unhusked corn. In addition, the system will remove organic debris such as leaves, stalks, small cobs, etc.
For best results, every effort should be made to remove this additional debris before it reaches the husker.
Clean, unshelled corn is deposited evenly into the dosing hopper, the speed of the dosing hopper belt is adjusted to feed the cobs evenly into the vibrating pan, which in turn distributes the cobs to the shelling section.
The shelling section operates on the principle that the counter-rotating rollers pinch a little of the husk off the cob, in addition to removing most of the hairs. The rollers have grooves to provide traction for pinching and shelling, and also to loosen the husk for the first ‘pinch’. Consequently, the rollers must be set with sufficient contact pressure, but not excessively.
The husks are ejected from the bottom of the husking section and the clean cobs are ejected from the discharge end.
Incorporates feeder by means of eccentric.
