About this machine
The can seamer is the machine used for hermetically sealing the lid to the can body prior to sterilisation. Depending on the product, sterilisation can also be done before filling.
The sealing of the can is achieved by the deformation and subsequent overlapping by compression of the metal layers of the can body and the lid.
The result is a kind of hook between the two, which makes the can airtight and, consequently, the container airtight. This sealing requires a rubber (sealing gasket) inserted in the edge of the lid to achieve the most effective bonding of the metal layers.
The 444 is a robust and reliable seamer, which has been designed to close shaped cans, although it is capable of closing round cans, both tinplate and aluminium.
